AmerenIP has plans to erect a new 138KV power line right through the middle of the beautiful Fox River Valley. The Fox River Alliance has been fighting this in a very complex legal process. We have volunteer experts in the area of law, real estate, electrical engineering, flying, and skydiving. We had to hire an environmental expert, John Sabuco, at the expected cost of $6,000 to $10,000. His bill turned out to be $4,800. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to pay his bill in full. At present, there is no need for further donations.
To set the record straight, Attorney and Skydiver Fred Morelli has donated his own time and money for the cause, as have countless volunteers. Fred has never taken one cent from this project and has no plans to do so. In fact, he has given his own money for miscellaneous fees along the way, and personally guaranteed payment to our environmental expert.
There are literally thousands of people affected by this project, including landowners, hunters, canoe enthusiasts, skydivers, and more. Because of the generousity of many of these people, we were able to pay the modest fees from our environmental expert. It is now clear that we have won this battle spending less than 1% of the combined outlay of the IL 71 Resistors and Ameren, simply because we are right.
